Baby Acne Information

Baby acne or acne in infants is confined to the face. Baby acne maybe present from the birth, but typically appears at 3 to 4 weeks of age and last until your child is between 4 and 6 months old.

The main lesions are comedones with only a few papules and postules.

Infantile acne is probably caused by maternal hormones, but oily substances applied to the face and scalp can also produce grouped comedones in children.

How Does Baby Acne Presents Itself

The baby acne usually presents itself as small whiteheads present on the cheek of infants, as well as forehead and chin.  This outbreak can occur at birth or it can even show itself up when the baby is of a few weeks.
